What is this?
 |
The dictating person holds a mobile dictation set in the
hand, he can record, spool, set index markers, speak over
passages, etc. The classical replay station will be replaced
by the PC. The DSS player software for replay of dictations
is installed on the PC. This software will be operated by
the secretary by means of foot switch, the headphones are
plugged in to the corresponding exit of the audio adapter.
Furthermore digital dictation sets offer a lot of additional
possibilities, such as inserting, putting ahead, adding of
passages as well as the possibility to archive dictations
durably or send by mail/network. |
 |
The files are saved in the dss format (digital speech standard)
which is used among other things by Grundig and Olympus. The
high compressed record method (like mp3) provides crystal-clear
sound quality at acceptable file sizes. You record either
on changeable SmartMedia-Cards or on internal flash memories
which are transferred to the PC by means of cable. |
 |
The dss player can also play wave files. You can also change
your dss files in Wave by means of “Save as…",
but not vice versa. |
 |
All files which you have transferred from a dictation set
with PC connection on the PC, you can send by email, but also
archive, burn on CD, etc. The addressee needs the dss player
software to be able to listen to the files. |
 |
Send me your dictations in the WAV or DSS
format by email, disc, CD, SmartMedia-Card. |
